Using hot air and extrusion welders, we are able to weld – or join – two pieces of plastic together. We are also able to use specialty adhesives to bond plastics together. Our extrusion plastic welding service is ideal for joining materials greater than 6mm in thickness. Our hot air welding services are ideal for joining two similar plastic materials.

About Plastic Welding Plastic Fabrication
Plastic welding and specialty adhesives are plastic fabrication processes by which two pieces of plastic are joined together using heat. It is typically a manual process; two common types of plastic welding are hot air welding and extrusion welding.
Hot air welding uses a heat gun to produce a stream of hot air that softens the two surfaces to be joined, as well as a plastic filler rod. In this process, the materials must all be similar, although PVC can be welded to acrylic using this method. Hot air welding is common for low-volume or smaller items – particularly tanks, vessels and pipes.
Extrusion welding is ideal for larger products and materials greater than 6mm thick. Welding rod is melted and used to join the two surfaces, so diverse materials can be welded together using this method. Thermoplastic welding rod is available in many colours, enabling a good match and aesthetically pleasing result.
Specialty adhesives can also be used to bond two pieces of plastic together, much like gluing but using high-performance adhesive materials suitable for the plastics job at hand.
